Halloween UpCycling at Home

Christmas, like Halloween, is such a great time to sit down together as a family and create. There’s a common purpose – decorate the house, make costumes, get ghoulish! Here are a few things you can do with upcycled items at home…

Spider Stamps

Easy for your Little Ones. Cut toilet rolls to create 8 spider’s legs (see above). Paint with black paint and print on paper.

Use googly eyes to make your spiders come alive, the more eyes the merrier!

Cardboard Haunted House

Transform your Amazon boxes into a haunted house. Once you have glued together an assortment of cardboard boxes, paint them all black. Use yellow and orange pointed rectangles for windows. Turrets are essential for an added spooky feel. Use tubes of any kind (or length) and curled paper to make a cone on top. Et voila! One spooky abode – who do you think is going to be haunting the windows!?

Monster Headband

Measure a strip of paper around long enough to wrap around your head. Lay it flat on the table.

On one side, cellotape lots of funky colourful papers (folded like concertinas) and curly ribbons so that they stream out from the top of one side, like a row of stripes that have a bit of bounce.

On the other side, decorate with eyes and colour!
