What is the Terrific Toys Sketchbook?
This sketchbook contains information about art styles, artists and drawing ideas. But first and foremost it is made of very special water-colour paper, paired with a colourful set of water-pants to create amazing works of art.
The theme of toys and games survive from the most remote past and from a great variety of cultures. The ball, kite, and yo-yo are assumed to be the oldest objects specifically designed as toys. Toys vary from the simplest to the most complex things, from a stick chosen by a child and imagined to be a hobby horse, to sophisticated and complex mechanical devices.
Some of the projects in this sketchbook include:
- Making a Polar Scene play set with polar bears, penguins and pine trees
- Exploring the Nutcracker and creating ballerinas, mice and toy soldiers
- Building a circus puppet theatre with your very own tent, acrobat, lion and horse
