Magical Movement Art Box
This LoLA box looks at how Matisse</span style=”font-weight: 400;”> used rhythm, line and colour to create a sense of movement in his cut-outs; how Harold E Edgerton</span style=”font-weight: 400;”>, both scientist and artist, used techniques of strobe and flash photography to show tiny movements; how Heather Hansen</span style=”font-weight: 400;”> creates Kinetic art; and at how Degas</span style=”font-weight: 400;”> was inspired by the elegance and grace of dancers.

What's the story behind Magical Movement?
Once our paints are on paper, they cannot physically move. But we can paint in a way which gives the impression of motion. Dance is an art form based entirely on movement; visual art uses movement in a different way, creating an illusion of motion in a static work of art.
“Art is not what you see, but what you make others see” – DEGAS
