Fabulous Form Little Ones Art Box
In this art box we explore different sculptural materials – from clay shapes inspired by Barbara Hepworth‘s natural abstract forms, to Calder‘s wire creations and fish floating in wire aquariums; from Godfrey DeWitt‘s packed and stacked conic and cylindrical steel circles, to clay hand bowls inspired by the master of form Rodin.

What is the Fabulous Form box?
Sculpture is art in more than two dimensions. Traditionally made out of stone, wood or clay, today it can be created from almost any material, ranging from the stainless steel and mirrors of Anish Kapoor, and the shifting sands of Jim Denevan, to concrete, plastic and even rubbish. A sculpture can be made by carving, modelling or merely placing materials together, and its effect arises from its size, texture, shape and colour.
For more in depth study of sculpture, why not visit the master of form, Rodin at Tate Modern until November 21st 2021.
