Little Ones Art Box
In storybooks, illustrators create imaginative worlds for us, but books can also be artworks in themselves. These projects look at different forms of the book – from pop-up and interactive pages to exploring art journals.

What's the story behind Brilliant Books?
There are many connections between books and art. In books we can learn about different artists and different styles of art. Sometimes the book itself is intended to be a work of art – some Artists’ books break away from the conventional book format and become beautiful sculptural objects. Artists’ sketchbooks are another place where books and art connect. They may give us a glimpse into how paintings or sculptures start out as merely scribbles or marks on a page!
In this Brilliant Books box you can find a three-page leaflet of great book recommendations to stock up your library. We also include an activity worksheet from the wonderful Marion Deuchar’s series ‘Let’s Make Great Art’ and a colouring sheet from illustrator Fiona Lumbers’ book ‘Luna Loves Art’!
